CLASSES

How do you sign up?  Call me at 694-3040 or come in.  You must pay the teaching fee at sign-up.  Bring basic stitching supplies to all classes – embroidery scissors, needles, magnifier and light if needed, pencil and paper for notes, laying tool, stretcher bars, tacks, etc.

Beginner Bookmark

Taught by Linda Sellars

Date:  September 16, 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Cost:  $10 plus supplies

For the true beginner, this class will ease you into the wonderful worry-free world of needlepoint.  You’ll learn to thread a needle, to knot or not to knot, the continental stitch, how to read a simple chart and end up with a personalized bookmark.  Don’t be shy, grab your non-stitching friends, and make a useful gift for yourself! 

Plaid Star Ornament or Tree Topper

Dates:  October 2 and 9, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Cost:  $20 plus supplies (approximately $60 for blank canvas, threads, stretcher bars)

Continue on your journey into needlepoint with the continental stitch but learn to read a slightly more complicated chart while making a plaid pattern.  This plaid star measures approximately 7” x 8” when finished.    Ours was stuffed and made into a tree topper with a corded edge.  So cute, you must see it!  Kits are available for those not wanting to take the class.

Sampler of Stitches

Dates:  November – To be announced

Cost:  $40 plus supplies (approximately $65, for painted canvas, stretcher bars and provided threads)

In this class, you’ll discover that painted canvas is not as frightening as you once thought as you start an easy “stitch painted” canvas.  This canvas actually has the stitches painted on it that you’ll be stitching except for the middle square which you can personalize with your initial or fill in.  You can even have this finished as a frame!  The painted area of this piece measures 5-1/2” square.  Join us and learn 12 new stitches in your needlepoint journey.

Sage Wreath

Student provides:  Stretcher bars or pre-order them please (10”)

CLASS MUST HAVE AT LEAST FOUR STUDENTS TO RUN.  SIGN UP NOW!   

This class was so popular that we’re running it again for those of you that didn’t get to take it the first time.  Learn a variety of spider stitches and also Rhodes stitches, laying and couching threads, Byzantine, long-armed cross stitch and the ever famous and FUN “pile-of-beads”.  This looks like a berry cut in half and sitting right on your canvas.  You can use this technique or circles on anything and it’s so much fun!

Cost $75 all day class, $45 half day

Please call and put your name on the waiting list.  You can advise if you’d like a ½ day class (10 to 1 p.m. or 2 to 4 p.m.)  If something opens up (which can happen), we’ll call you immediately and put you in the class.  Kathy’s classes have been filling before we even announce them so this is a smart way to get in.

For those unfamiliar with her classes, you bring any painted canvas and Kathy will suggest the right stitches and threads to bring your canvas to life.  She’s got a fun, unique style and lots of needlepoint fans across the United States!

Drop- In Tuesdays with Theresa

Dates/times:  Tuesdays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Fee:  $10 a week, paid at class time.

Project:  Work on your current project and get help with anything you need.  Meet other needlepointers and relax with friends for 2 hours.  If this is your first time, please call otherwise, just drop in!   Yes, this class continues during summer!  Please note, NO CLASS ON APRIL 28th.
