CLASSES
Now that we're in our new location, I'm setting up our calendar with classes again. As always, if there's a canvas or a technique you and several friends are interested in learning, let me know and I can set up a class for you. (See pictures of these on our Classes pages of this website.)

Facets: A Monochromatic Square on Point
Taught by: Theresa Swiecicki
Dates: Tuesdays, April 2, 9, 16, 23
Times: 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Teaching Fee: $40
Material Cost: $40

The colors can be changed in this simple piece to reflect your decor. When finished set it in a box or take it to your local framer (cost not included). You'll learn the Waffle stitch, Rice stitch, Diagonal stitch, Byzantine, Tent and Milanese. Great class to take with friends, please sign up early and choose your colors BEFORE class so they can be ordered if necessary.  Material includes canvas, threads (cost may be higher or lower depending on your choices), stretcher bars, needle and chart.  Bring a small pair of scissors.

Merry Cherry Santa
Taught by Theresa Swiecicki
Dates: Thursdays: May 2, 9, 23, 30
Times: 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Teaching Fee: $40
Material Cost: $75

Here comes Santa with a cheery cherry pie just for you! This is a perfect beginner's piece! It will teach you Smyrnas, Cashmere, slanted Gobelin, Rhodes, Mosaic, French Knots and Satin Stitch. Finishing costs are NOT included but directions to finish this piece are included in the written instructions or we can send it out for you. Please sign up as early as possible as KITS NEED TO BE ORDERED.  Material includes line drawn canvas, written instructions from designer along with buttons and charm, thread, stretcher bars and needle.  Finishing fabric and tools are not included in cost but are items you have at home.  Bring a small pair of scissors. 

Canvas Embellishment

Dates: Fridays, April 19, May 17, 2013
Times: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with break for lunch on your own

Material Cost: Varies for each person

Pre-purchase any painted canvas or bring a painted canvas from your stash! Kathy is a thread and stitch connoisseur and she'll bring your years of talent to you and your canvas. Watch your canvas come to life under your fingers and her tutelage. You'll also gain knowledge by seeing what other students learn on their canvases! I've learned just by listening in! Be prepared to stitch!  Bring your stitching supplies.

Bargello - An Ornamental Odyssey
Taught by: Theresa Swiecicki
Dates: Saturday, March 30 and Saturday, April 13 (if needed)
Times: 10 a.m. to 12 noon
Teaching Fee: $10
Material Cost: $35.00

Great for beginners, this darling ornament will start you on your Bargello adventure. Learn how easy bargello is and how it encompasses more than just the "flame" stitch. Changing colors in this class IS allowed. You'll learn simple chart reading and dip your toe into the needlepoint waters. Material includes canvas, stretcher bars, threads, needle. Please bring small pair of scissors. Visit any day before class to choose your three colors.

How do you sign up?  Call me at 694-3040 or come in.  You must pay the teaching fee at sign-up.  Bring basic stitching supplies to all classes – embroidery scissors, needles, magnifier and light if needed, pencil and paper for notes, laying tool, stretcher bars, tacks, etc.

10-4 with an hour break for lunch on your own - NOTE:  lunch will not be ordered in to the shop this time!

Teaching Fee and Stitch Guide:  $45

Canvas and All Threads:  $153

This class features a beaded tree with drooping branches by a meandering dark blue stream.  The landscaped hills of gentle greens and rusts lend themselves beautifully to the stitches and threads Kathy has chosen.  You'll work with overdyed cottons, metallics, ribbon floss, silks, and beads to create your own willow, river and landscape.    All threads and needles provided.  Student will need to provide (or pre-order) one set each 12" and 14" stretcher bars and all regular stitching accessories.

As of November 1, 2012, cost has increased $5 for each class to $80 all day class, $50 half day (10-1 or 2-5)

WE CAN ALSO book her if you have a group of stitching friends that want to get together for an all day class.  Just ask!

For those unfamiliar with her classes, you bring any painted canvas and Kathy will suggest the right stitches and threads to bring your canvas to life.  She’s got a fun, unique style and lots of needlepoint fans across the United States!  I've taken several classes with Kathy and suggest that you try her class to see if you'll love her ideas like I do!

Drop- In Tuesdays with Theresa

Dates/times:  Tuesdays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Fee:  $10 a week, paid at class time.

Project:  Work on your current project and get help with anything you need.  Meet other needlepointers and relax with friends for 2 hours.  If this is your first time, please call otherwise, just drop in!   We have fun AND get our projects finished!  Here's a sample of something you could get help on!
