Icelandic Patterns in Needlepoint

Icelandic Patterns in Needlepoint

If you can read a chart and do the tent stitch, you can conquer anything in this book. I loved this book because I like all those icelandic type sweaters – you know the kinds with reindeers and patterns in them. This is just like that but in needlepoint. There’s lots of fun charts in here and tapestries too. The book starts out with spot motifs including things you’d see on samplers like birds, windmills, quilt type patches, flowers, and badly designed horses. They teach you how to plan out repeating designs. There are icelandic squares and knots, which remind me of celtic knots, a vase, more birds, and a dragon. All of these are in multi colors and just phenomenal.
