As stated, this is a new, revised edition of the Threads: A Needle Necessity book. The author dedicated a page to each thread that she has tried and reviewed and includes information about the thread including what it’s made of, who makes it, whether you should use it in single or multi-strand and other tips like what and how to stitch with it.
The threads are listed alphabetically and the book is over 157 pages. The last twenty pages or so includes more tips on planning your project, the elements of threads and their nature, needles and sizes, calculating how much thread to purchase and stitching tips for different types of threads. The last two pages are a thread usage chart AND that same handy chart is included in a laminated page so that you can take it with you when thread shopping. The chart names the type of thread, the fiber, the yards on one spool or card, the strands that make it up, and how many plies to use on 18 and 13/14 mesh canvas. So handy!
