Dear Friends and Stitchers,
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Welcome to 2023. My wish for all of you is more quality stitching time! Make a plan to stitch more in 2023 and see how much more relaxed you are. I stitch nearly every evening. What about you?
Plum Stitchery Trunk Show
It’s here! The Plum Stitchery Trunk Show arrived late yesterday. I’ve covered the shop hanging the larger pieces – there was more than 30 lbs. of canvases in the box and I will be unable to do videos of them because of the quantity. I must encourage you again to visit https://www.theplumstitchery.com/ to see all of Plum Stitchery designs AND all the artists that she carries. We’ve been waiting for this Trunk Show for nearly two years so GRAB IT NOW. All regular prices for this show will be discounted 20%. Just email or call me for prices and sizes and if you have the item number, that will make it easier as the inventory list is so long. I saw several sweet florals and fun sayings that I wouldn’t mind stitching but YOU get first choice! The pictures above are just a few of the designs. One of the designers is called Leland Girl and I’m pretty sure that she’s a Michigan native – her design is the first above, then there’s Ikat posies, party bee and Nutcracker designs. I want to try to sell 5 lbs. worth of canvas – can you help me with that goal? The trunk show is here from now through Saturday, January 21 so DON’T WAIT!
Other New Items
I brought in three round rattan purses…these have been all the rage for adding round ornaments on the front. I have one each black, white and natural, the black and white are shown above. The interior lining is a nice blue and white pattern. The purse is 7-3/4 diameter, has a snap closure, and an adjustable 48″ strap overall. Get yours now, choose a round canvas and you’ll be ready for spring and summer!
Wednesday Classes Continue
I’m teaching on Wednesdays from 2 – 3:30 and have a few openings on most dates. I will NOT be teaching the last Wednesday of January. Just call me to arrange for your seat, pre-payment of the $15 fee is required. 810-694-3040. If class is cancelled due to weather concerns, you will not lose your credit towards a future class.
Speaking of Winter Weather
Remember, I live over 30 miles from the shop so if I fear for my safety, I will close. I will alert you by changing the phone message as early as possible on the day of closure and also posting on the Homestead Needle Arts Facebook page. You need not be a FB member to view that page. Just go to Facebook.com and type Homestead Needle Arts in the search bar. Then you can click on my page and check for closures.
Saturday Stitch-Ins to Return in February
As long as Covid and flu numbers stay stable, we’ll have a return to Saturday stitch-ins starting on Saturday, February 11. There are some changes. First of all, space is limited. If I find that there’s more interest than seats, I will open a second date each month. Next, there is a now a $15 prepaid non-refundable fee to attend. The stitch-in is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is not a class, just stitching together. Please call me for this first month to pre-pay by check or credit card or pop in to pay. Seats cannot be held without payment.
What I Did on My Christmas Vacation
Sounds like a good essay doesn’t it? I baked, I hung out with Mike, I cooked meals, I stitched, I may have knitted a little bit, I did a 1000 piece puzzle, I stitched, Skye and I took numerous walks and had far too many sessions of ball throwing, I stitched, I watched hours of Netflix and BritBox and I visited with people. Oh, and I stitched. I have picked my rug back up and am nearing the halfway mark but must put it down again because work stitching is calling me. I hope your time off was as relaxing as mine!
Just chilling with my sweetheart. See you soon!
Theresa
