The August Trunk Show is Here!
It’s finally here! The Best Of Susan Roberts Needlepoint and Tapestry Tent Trunk Show has arrived and is now hanging in the shop. They sent me Christmas stockings, Christmas ornaments, brick covers, pillow canvases, belts, Christmas stockings, Parades, double-sided Santas, a few dog collars and key fobs, nutcrackers, clever 3D fold-up houses, Nativities and Christmas stockings. Yes, there really are that many stockings in this Show. Some of my favorite types are shown above – the two-sided Santas are SO ADORABLE and the fold-up gingerbread houses are too. There are LOTS of ornaments in this line so browse away (link in next paragraph) and let me know what you’re thinking about. If you want to see a video of the stockings and large pieces, visit my Facebook page, Homestead Needle Arts. I don’t think you need a Facebook account to see it.
If you’ve been thinking of trying your hand at a Christmas stocking, or have a new addition to your family to celebrate, NOW is the time to get a stocking. I have the ones in the Trunk Show discounted from our regular prices by THIRTY PERCENT!!! The other items in the Trunk Show are discounted by 20%. You can see all the canvases at www.susanrobertsneedlepoint.com. If they didn’t send the one you want, I can order it. If they have it in stock, it’ll be about a month. If they don’t, it could be up to 8 months.
NEW NEW NEW
I still have lots of canvases coming in for you to browse. Some are new from the last Virtual Market and some are things I thought you might like. Of course you can see them all on my website and in the shop. I thought the “night flyers” above would be super fun to do in all kinds of glittering Kreinik and other metallic threads.
Just so you know, I’m constantly ordering new canvases so that you have NEW to shop. If the designer doesn’t have it in stock, it can be 6-8 MONTHS before it arrives so I’m ordering and also purchasing what they have in stock now. If you ever see a canvas that you must have, let me know and I can order it for you.
New Chart by From Nancy’s Needle
Nancy has been at it again. This time she’s created a bright happy chart called Zinnia Square shown above. Her charts are mostly satin stitches using clever combinations of threads so you can have fun watching your picture come to life. If you like the floral idea, here are some of her past ones. I can order any of these for you, just call or email me with the name of the charts you want. These are Tulip Lane (purples), Summer Quilt Revisited (yellow) and Summer Bouquet (pinks).
Classes Return to Weekly Starting in September
Starting in September, Tuesdays with Theresa will resume every week from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for $15 per class. There will be up to 5 people in the class and I move around the table helping each one of you with your current (or new!) project. You may sign up for a full month at a time but you MUST PAY IN ADVANCE for each class you sign up for. You can also sign up one week at a time if there is room in the class. The pre-paid teaching fee is non-refundable and can not be changed to another date. I haven’t had to do this before but I want to make sure I can get as many people in here that want classes. Thanks for understanding.
Kathy Fenchel Classes Continue
If you want to take a class with Kathy, be sure to let me know as her classes fill quickly but I have a waiting list and will be happy to contact you when there are openings. Just call me at 810-694-3040 or email me to be put on the wait list.
Christmas Finishing Deadline is Approaching!
Just one more month! Your treasures must be in my hands by September 15 in order to be guaranteed to be back to the shop by Christmas. Don’t delay! I send to her about every 10 days so if you have items ready to go, bring them in now. The above bird is a Cheryl Schaeffer cookie cutter ornament that I bought from the trunk show this year.
The stitch-ins have returned with a new twist. Only 8 people will be allowed to sign up for the First and Third Saturday of the month stitch-ins. There are openings in the Saturday, August 21 group as of this writing. You may sign up for one stitch-in per month so that everybody can be accommodated. If you’ve never been to one at Homestead, you’re in for a treat! We have a great time stitching and chatting. You may bring your lunch or visit next door or order in with others in the group. The hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is no teacher available during the stitch-in but there are lots of fellow stitchers that love to help if you have questions. I also have a superb “shop library” that you can access. Just call me at 810-694-3040 to sign up. You can also “rent the table” for a day for $50 if you’d like to host a stitch-in with your friends. Call or email me for additional information on renting the table.
I’m still having trouble getting some of the threads into the shop from both Rainbow Gallery and Kreinik. Please be understanding as sometimes the problem is as far up the supply chain as getting the raw materials. Be assured that I have plenty of threads that I can substitute for you if I don’t have exactly what you need.
Please know that I’m watching for any CDC recommendations about masking up in Michigan. At this point, you’re still welcome to come and shop without as mask as long as you’ve been vaccinated. If you’re not vaccinated, please wear a mask while shopping for your safety and the safety of others … including me! If you feel more comfortable in a mask, please feel free to wear one.
That’s All for Now!
Thank you for always supporting Homestead Needle Arts for your needlepoint needs! Without you, there wouldn’t be a shop. How many of you think that this new canvas above has Skye’s name all over it? (There’s a cat with books on my website too!)
Here’s a snapshot of one exhausted still damp doggy after playing in the kiddie pool for hours.
