The knitting lady above is so fun with her yarn hair…although I would give her some bangs to hide the high forehead! The World comes in pillow AND ornament sized in several different colors.
Winter Vacation!
I’m taking a week to go visit my sister Chris in Arizona. Yay! This is NOT a working vacation, it’s a “Let’s have fun and relax and visit” vacation. I will be closed from Sunday, January 24, 2023 through Monday, January 30, re-opening for regular hours on Tuesday, January 31 at 10 a.m. Make sure to get all your supplies ready for a week of winter stitching before I go! Virtual Needlepoint Show
The weekend I return, there’s a Virtual Needlepoint Show for shop owners and OF COURSE I’ll be reviewing the items and buying what I think you might like. I just had my Rebecca Woods order arrive from the Market in October so keep an eye on the website for those items. Looking for something? From Nancy’s Needle – New Chart
This new chart above is by From Nancy’s Needle and is sure to make you think of spring flowers. It’s called Thistles Among the Tulips and I’m now taking orders.. The chart is just $14.50. She states that you need Caron Collection Watercolours, #112 Fir (2 skeins), #209 Iris, #235 Tanzanite, DMC #5 Perle, #327 Dark Violet, #333 Very Dark Blue Violet, #367 Dark Pistachio Green, #502 Blue Green, #550 Very Dark Violet (2 yards included with chart), #791 Very Dark Cornflower Blue (2 skeins), #793 Medium Cornflower Blue, #890 Ultra Dark Pistachio Green, #989 Forest Green and the canvas is sized at 14 x 14″ for a nearly 10″ design. Needlepoint Now Wreath of Leaves Class/Stitch In Now Scheduled
I will have a monthly class/stitch-in for the Needlepoint Now Wreath of Leaves. If you haven’t seen it yet, there are 50 plus leaves that you stitch separately along with finishing instructions. Each issue in 2023 will have a number of the leaf patterns and instructions included. I will NOT be teaching the finishing at this time as there are good instructions in the magazine. Several people have said that they’ll be doing their leaves in Autumn colorways. I encourage you to use your stash threads as this is a GREAT project for that. The first class will be held on Tuesday, February 7 from 10-1 p.m. We will review the leaf patterns in the first hour and I’ll answer any questions and then you can sit and stitch. The cost for each class is FREE. You must sign up so I know how many to expect. Although the magazine calls for 5 x 5″ pieces of canvas, I suggest that you bring stretcher bars of anywhere from 12″ and up to make a square or rectangle so you can fit several leaves on the canvas and save yourself some money to spend on threads!!! 🙂 Don’t have the NN January issue? Wednesday Classes have Openings
For those of you interested in a class, I have openings in my Wednesday class from 2-3:30. Bring any needlepoint project or start a new one and I will help you choose stitches and threads. There are up to 6 people in a class so you’ll also learn by seeing what other students are stitching. $15 non-refundable pre-payment. Call me to schedule, 810-694-3040.
Saturday Stitch-Ins to Return in February
Our next Saturday stitch-ins will be held on Saturday, February 11. I have a few seats available! Remember, there are some changes. First of all, space is limited. If I find that there’s more interest than seats, I will open a second date each month. Next, there is a now a $15 prepaid non-refundable fee to attend. The stitch-in is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is not a class, just stitching together. Please call me for this first month to pre-pay by check or credit card or pop in to pay. Seats cannot be held without payment.
